4 -Week Beginner/Intermediate Triathlon Training for Mission Bay Triathlon
RACE GOAL: Mission Bay Sprint Triathlon on October 1st- in Mission Bay, San Diego

Sprint distances – 500 Meter Swim/ 15K Bike/5K Run
International Distance – 1000 Meter Swim/29K Bike/9K Run
WHO:  Beginner/Intermediate Level Triathletes – Ages 13-70+ years old of all athletic abilities
WHEN: September 5th – October 1st- Wednesdays 6:00-7:30 p.m. and Saturdays 7:30-10:00 a.m., Sunday 8:00am – Open Water Swims and Swim Clinics (Note: First Class meeting will be Tues. Sept 5)
WHERE: The training will be centered at Irvine Racquet Club, the Back Bay, Newport Dunes and the extensive cycling and running trails throughout the Newport, Irvine and Tustin areas. Location schedule provided when training starts. Four Open Water Swim Sessions on Race Course!
COST: $200 – Join the SBR Triathlon Team Annual Membership and Save 10% more!
Basic Prerequisites for Participation:
Swim – must be water-safe and have basic swim skills and swim 500 yards.
Bike – basic riding and bike handling skills for 45 minutes of riding.
Run – walk or run or walk/run for 30 minutes.

Cost Includes:

  • 4- week on-line triathlon training plan
  • Professional instruction on swim, bike and run skills, nutrition, and mental preparation
  • Learning components on all aspects of solid triathlon training such as equipment, safety, strategies for successful swim, bike and run.
  • Four open water swim sessions, pool open water swim skills clinic, race prep, race strategy and Practice Race!
  • Dry Fit SBR Coaching T-shirt, Visor and water bottle

Equipment Needed:

  • Good quality running shoes
  • Operational bike – all styles fine, helmet
  • Swim suit, goggles, cap, swim buoy, Finis Floating Fins and Freestyle Paddles for drills

Sprint Distance: ½ mile Swim/14 mile Bike/4.5 mile run
WHO: Beginner/Intermediate Level Triathletes – Ages 16-70+ years old of all athletic abilities
